NEILLSVILLE, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – An Abbotsford man accused of killing his two children and nearly killing his wife pleaded no contest to homicide charges in Clark County court.
Victor Manuel Gomez Acosta entered the plea to two counts of first-degree homicide and one count of attempted first-degree homicide.
The charges stem from a stabbing at an Abbotsford trailer park two years ago that left his children dead and his wife injured. The 31-year-old could face multiple life sentences.
Gomez Acosta requested a court trial rather than a jury and is stating his mental disability as a defense.
The court accepted his no-contest pleas but withheld entering it.
The court also accepted Gomez Acosta’s waiver of his right to a jury trial for the mental culpability phase.
The bench trial is scheduled to last three to four days.
Parties agreed to amend the filing deadline for non-standard motions to Sept. 11, 2026.
