ANTIGO, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – Kelly Kohler, a special education teacher at Antigo High School, has advanced to the quarterfinals of America’s Favorite Teacher, where she will have the opportunity to appear in Reader’s Digest, win a trip to Hawaii, and earn $25,000.
As a former student of Antigo High School, Kohler has become popular not just in the area but with her students who she rewards with sweats such as Kwik Trip Dunkers when they do a good job.
While speaking to WAOW about says always being ready for anything is a big part of teaching saying, “In special education, you never know what it’s going to be from one minute to the next so whether a kid needs something to eat or they just need someone to talk to or if they need help with their homework, just being flexible and being there for whatever it is they need.”
Kohler has her area listed on the America’s Favorite Teacher website where people can vote for her.
