ATLANTA, GA (Reuters-WSAU) – Ozzie Albies hit a pair of home runs, including a walk-off two-run shot in the ninth inning, as Atlanta earned their second straight victory over Milwaukee on Saturday, 4-3.
The Braves have won the first two games between the National League division leaders and handed Milwaukee its third straight loss. It was Atlanta’s fifth walk-off win.
Dylan Lee (3-0), who pitched a scoreless ninth, earned the win. Aaron Ashby (10-1) took the loss. Milwaukee starter Kyle Harrison gave up two runs on four hits over 6 1/3 innings. Atlanta starter Chris Sale was working for the first time in 10 days. He pitched 5 2/3 innings and allowed two runs, both unearned, on five hits.
One of the Brewers’ biggest bright spots during their current losing streak has been former top prospect Cooper Pratt, who is hitting .375 with two RBIs since being called up to the big leagues last week.
Albies’ second home run of the day was essentially a “bloop hit,” according to manager Pat Murphy, who met with the media following the game. However, the Brewers were unable to capitalize on their own opportunity to take advantage of the short porch, leaving six on base while Atlanta only left two.
As Milwaukee tries to escape its fourth straight loss, Robert Gasser will take the mound this afternoon against Bryce Elder. The first pitch is set for 12:35 p.m on WSAU.
