CINCINNATI, OH (WSAU) — Christian Yelich went 4-5, including two doubles and two home runs, to lift the Brewers to a 10-8 win over Cincinnati on Friday and a 13th consecutive win.
Five other batters had multiple hits, including Brandon Lockridge, Andrew Vaughn, and Sal Frelick.
Yelich’s stat line included five RBI and three runs scored. Vaughn launched his 14th home run of the season, a three-run shot in the 3rd.
Jacob Misiorowski made his return to the starting rotation for the Brewers, pitching 1.1 innings and allowing five earned runs. DL Hall followed him, allowing three additional runs over 2.2 innings.
Five additional relievers would shut the door. Nick Mears was credited with the win for pitching a clean 5th inning. Trevor Megill handled the 9th for his 29th save of the season. Aaron Ashby, Abner Uribe, and Jared Koenig each earned a hold.
Milwaukee is now 77-44 on the season. The same two teams will play again tonight at Great American Ballpark, with game coverage moving to 93.9 The Game starting at 5:35.
