Jordan Coyle
STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — A Portage County man accused of child sex crimes and interfering with child custody has withdrawn his request for a speedy trial.
Jordan Cole was scheduled for trial in late October for one count of first-degree child sexual assault and felony interference with child custody. Those dates were canceled, and he has since withdrawn a request for a speedy trial.
Charges stem from an AMBER Alert in September 2025. Coyle took his girlfriend’s child as she was getting off a school bus, then ran off. They were found two days later in a wooded area.
He was initially charged with interference with child custody. DNA evidence was collected from the girl and indicated recent sexual contact between the two, leading to additional charges.
No further court action was immediately scheduled. Charges against Coyle carry repeat modifiers, which could lead to increased prison time.
The girl’s mother, Chelsea Lehmann, is serving prison time for harboring a felon. State prison records indicate she is being held at the Milwaukee Women’s Correctional Center and is scheduled for release in September 2027.
