MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers were no match for the debut of Twins SS Kaelen Culpepper, who blasted a solo home run in his second plate appearance as Minnesota took game one of the I-94 rivalry series 8-6.
Brice Turang, David Hamilton, and Luis Lara each recorded two hits. Turang added two RBI.
Jackson Chourio belted his 16th home run of the season, a solo shot in the 1st.
Reliever Antonio Senzatela took the loss, allowing three hits and two earned runs in the 6th inning.
Culpepper, Minnesota’s #2 prospect, was called up by the Twins just before Friday’s game. He told reporters that Friday’s sellout crowd of 42,100 was a new experience for him, saying, “I’ve never played in front of that many people in my life.”
Game two of the series is tonight, with coverage starting at 5:35 on WSAU.
