STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — The intersection of Division Street and Briggs Street will close to traffic starting August 5th as crews continue the Business 51 reconstruction project.
Public Works officials say the closure will allow crews to connect sanitary sewer work. The intersection is scheduled to reopen with a gravel surface by Friday, August 7th, and will be paved over at a later date.
The Division Street repairs, described as a “generational” project, will be completed over multiple summers. Mayor Mike Wiza is encouraging drivers to be patient in the work zone and allow plenty of time to get to their destination. Families moving students into town for the new school year at UWSP should also be aware of detours around campus, as many of the main roads will be closed to traffic during move-in days.
