TOWN OF WESTCOTT, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – A 39-year-old Shawano-area man died after his motorcycle collided head-on with a FedEx delivery truck on Hillcrest Lane.
The Shawano County Dispatch Center received a report of the crash at 9:22am on July 22. Initial reports indicated the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet and had possible head injuries. Multiple Shawano County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded along with fire and EMS units. When they arrived, they provided medical attention to the motorcyclist, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The FedEx truck driver was identified as a 25-year-old man from the Green Bay area. The FedEx truck was traveling northbound on Hillcrest Lane while the motorcycle was traveling southbound. The motorcycle crossed into the northbound lane and struck the FedEx truck head-on. The FedEx truck came to rest in the northbound lane of traffic. The motorcycle came to rest in the east ditch line.
No further details, including the name of the motorcyclist, will be released at this time as the investigation remains ongoing.
