Desiree Osman
WAUPACA, WI (WSAU) — A 31-year-old woman has been bound over for trial in connection with the death of Jon “Jake” Morgan.
Desiree Osman of Antigo is accused of providing the drugs that led the 23-year-old to overdose back in 2020. Police say she hid his body, which led to an extensive search effort involving local and state agencies, the FBI, INTERPOL, and the US Department of Homeland Security.
Friends and family also maintained a “Help us find Jon/Jake Morgan” Facebook page for the duration of the search.
Osman’s arrest was announced in February. She now faces charges for reckless homicide by delivery of drugs, hiding a corpse, delivering heroin, and felony bail jumping. Some charges carry a party to the crime modifier, meaning police don’t believe she acted alone, though no further arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
She now faces more than 70 years in prison if found guilty on all charges. She has yet to enter a plea to the charges, and no trial dates have been scheduled.
No further court action was immediately set during Tuesday’s hearing.
