Robert Bowen
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Former Riverside Fire District Chief Robert Bowen has been sentenced for a pair of misdemeanor sexual assault charges, stemming from accusations that he made inappropriate sexual contact with a child.
Court records show Bowen will serve two years of probation. The sentence includes 60 days in jail and about $820 in restitution, along with a full no-contact order with the victim.
Bowen was put on leave from the department in the spring of 2024 after the accusations came to light. He remained on leave until late summer, when the sides reached a separation agreement.
Officials with the Village of Rothschild noted that none of the crimes occurred while he was on the clock with the department. He has since moved away from Central Wisconsin.
