CINCINNATI, OH (WSAU) – Brandon Sproat had the best start of his big league career, allowing just 1 hit and striking out 10, as the Brewers beat the Reds 2-0.
The Reds managed just two hits for the game, and left the field to a smattering of boos at Great American Ballpark.
Hank Bauers and Andrew Vaughn drove in Milwaukee’s runs. Bauers’ triple in the 6th tallied the game’s first run. Vaugn brought in another run with a sacrafice fly in the 8th.
The Brewers lead the NL Central by 6-games, as the second-place Cardinals fell to the Diamondbacks, 4-3.
Shane Drohan (3-2) will pitch tonight as the Brewers play for a sweep. Game coverage begins at 5:35pm on WSAU.
