ANTIGO, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – A 45-year-old woman died in a head-on crash on U.S. Highway 45 near County Highway X in the Town of Antigo on Wednesday.
The Langlade County Dispatch Center received a report of the crash around 10:24pm on April 22nd. Sheriff’s deputies arrived and found two vehicles with one person in each. The drivers were a 45-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man from Antigo.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities identified her as Gina Marie Brunner of Wittenberg.
The 25-year-old man was taken to Aspirus Langlade Hospital. Deputies suspect alcohol played a role in the crash based on what they observed at the scene.
The Antigo Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Town of Antigo Fire Department, City of Antigo Ambulance, Langlade County Highway Department and the Langlade County Coroner’s Office assisted during the incident. The crash remains under investigation.
