TOWN OF HANSEN, WI (WSAU) — What started as an attempted traffic stop for speeding ended with a crash and a cocaine bust in the Wood County Town of Hansen.
Officers attempted to pull over a motorcycle on Tuesday afternoon for speeding, but the operator took off. The driver attempted to negotiate several curves during the chase and ultimately lost control of the bike and crashed.
A search of the bike turned up two bags containing a white, powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine.
The driver was identified as 23-year-old Wyatt Landphier, who is facing possible charges for possession of cocaine and felony fleeing. Court action against him for those is pending. He has been cited and fined for operating a motorcycle without a valid license.
