WESTON, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – As the Central Wisconsin community recovers from severe weather, several locations and countless people have stepped up to offer help.
The Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin is partnering with the United Way of Marathon County to support those impacted. You can dial 2-1-1 to report damage or get connected with shelter, food, and recovery services. They’ve also launched an Emergency Relief Fund, that you can donate to here.
The Ringle Fire Department is collecting items from 8am-6pm on Sunday. They say anyone from Ringle who needs to pick up items is encouraged to do so starting at noon on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the Woodson YMCA is hosting an Emergency Hygiene Drive, again partnering with United Way 211. You can drop off supplies at the Woodson YMCA Aspirus Branch at 3402 Howland Ave, Weston.
Coral Lanes Bowling in Rothschild is collecting monetary donations, gift cards, and non-perishable food items, which they plan to give to the Salvation Army.
Wild Birds Unlimited in Wausau says they are collecting monetary donations, non-perishable food items, and hygiene products.
Blessed Beans Cafe in Hatley is offering free drip-coffee to cleanup crews on Saturday. They’re also collecting donations and are “providing a space for anyone who just needs a moment to sit, breath, and regroup.”
DCE Middle School, which is acting as a safe ground for those impacted by the storms, is no longer taking donations. Families in need can pick up donations at the Aspirus Branch YMCA.
