[Omro, WI] — Elementary classrooms across Wisconsin are invited to step onto the farm—without leaving their school—through an upcoming virtual beef farm tour hosted in partnership with Wisconsin Agriculture in the Classroom, Wisconsin Beef Council, Alice in Dairyland, and Poppy Family Farms.
The 30-minute virtual experience will take students to Poppy Family Farms in Omro, Wisc., where they will meet cattle, learn how farmers care for their animals, and discover how beef is raised. The tour will be hosted by Sarah Hagenow, Wisconsin’s 78th Alice in Dairyland, alongside farmer Rebecca Poppy.
Designed specifically for elementary students, the interactive tour will give classrooms a firsthand look at life on a Wisconsin beef farm. The tour will also include opportunities to ask questions. Classrooms are encouraged to submit questions in advance during registration for the chance to win a book from the Wisconsin Agriculture in the Classroom program.
Teachers will find the tour easy to incorporate into their day, with engaging, age-appropriate content that supports agricultural literacy.
