MADISON, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – A man from Rothschild has been sentenced to six years in federal prison on drug and firearm-related charges.
U.S. Attorney Chadwick M. Elgersma announced Edward L. Jackson III, 29, was sentenced on January 8, following a guilty plea.
Judge William M. Conley sentenced Jackson after finding him to be a danger to the community due to his history of drug dealing and firearm possession.
The charges stem from a May 20, 2024, incident that started as a domestic incident. During their investigation, Wausau police discovered 105 grams of methamphetamine, 247 pills containing fentanyl, and a loaded firearm in a backpack in Jackson’s car.
Jackson was prohibited from possessing firearms due to prior felony convictions.
The investigation was conducted by several local and federal law enforcement agencies, including the Wausau Police Department and the FBI’s Central Wisconsin Narcotics Task Force.
