Milwaukee Brewers
MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) The Brewers evened their series. Milwaukee beat the Philadelphia Phillies 6-3 at home. Isaac Collins opened the scoring with a three-run home run, while Brice Turang went two-for-three with a double, a triple and an RBI. Jose Quintana allowed three runs over six-and-a-third innings to earn the win and Jared Koenig earned his first save of the season.
The Cubs lost to the Braves, 5-1. The Brewers lead in the NL Central widens to 6 games.
A pair of Brewers were awarded for their performance in August. Milwaukee second baseman Brice Turang was named NL Player of the Month, while Freddy Peralta was named the league’s Pitcher of the Month. Turang hit .343 with 10 home runs and 24 RBIs in 28 games. Peralta made five starts in August and went 4-and-0 with a 0.32 ERA.
