Artist rendering of human remains from Florence County, WI
FLORENCE, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – The Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) is seeking public assistance in identifying human skeletal remains found in Florence County on October 28, 2022. New composite sketches have been released to aid in this effort.
The remains are believed to belong to woman, aged 30 to 83, standing between 4’8” and 5’4”, and of White or Hispanic descent. It is estimated that she had been deceased for two to 15 years before discovery.
DCI Forensic Artists, in collaboration with Michigan State Police, have created composite sketches based on forensic examinations. These sketches can also be viewed on the Wisconsin Clearinghouse for Missing & Exploited Children & Adults website.
Despite utilizing advanced DNA technology and extensive database searches, the individual’s identity remains unknown. The investigation, led by DCI, continues with assistance from multiple agencies.
