WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – A man accused of throwing a woman from a moving vehicle is being held on $500,000 bond.
Shawn Mitchell, 33, of Weston is accused of forcing the woman out of his vehicle on the off ramp at Maple Ridge Road on Interstate 39 on June 22.
Mitchell was arrested at the scene. He claimed he was not driving, and that the woman fell out of the car. Eye witnesses said it appeared that she was pushed. She was unresponsive when police arrived. She suffered a head injury. Mitchell did not call 911, and refused a breathalyzer test at the scene.
Mitchell is charged with battery with a domestic violence enhancer and 8th offense OWI. He is also facing an unrelated child pornography charge.
His case is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Marathon County Court on July 23.
