GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – Packers’ rookie linebacker Edgerrin Cooper is being honored by the league once again as he continues to impress coaches and players around the league.
According to a statement by the league, Cooper has been named the NFC’s Defensive Rookie of the Month for December after he recorded 35 tackles (26 solo), one sack, and had an overall Pro Football Focus Grade of 91.7, which is first among all linebackers over the last three weeks.
This is not the first award that Cooper has received this season, as he was the NFC’s Defensive Player of the Week in both Week 8 and Week 15, which made him the first Packer to win the award twice in the same season since Clay Matthews did it in 2010 and the first rookie to do it since the award began in 1984.
