GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Wisconsin Public Service is on the hunt for its first-ever ‘ambassadog.’
WPS is giving customers the opportunity to nominate their dogs to be face of the company’s safe digging campaign.
WPS customers can nominate their pups now through July 16.
All they have to do is submit a picture of their dog digging in his or her favorite place to dig.
The winning pup will be featured in a social media campaign to share a crucial safety slogan: Doggone it! Always call 811 at least three days before you dig.
After the nominees are in, WPS will narrow down the entries and give customers the ruff job of selecting the winner by pup-ular vote. The top dog will be the star of the company’s safe digging awareness campaign throughout the year.
Contest updates can be found on the WPS Facebook and X pages.
Digging can be dangerous if you don’t call 811 at least three days in advance. Whether you’re planting a garden or installing a fence, it’s important to have the location of underground utilities marked to keep yourself and your family safe. Calling 811 or going to diggershotline.com is easy, it’s free, and it’s the law.
