Fatal Fire
WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – One person died in a house fire on 11th Street South in Wisconsin Rapids on Wednesday morning.
According to the fire department, the fire broke out shortly after midnight. When they arrived, firemen reported substantial smoke and flames coming from the first and second floors of the property. There were four persons inside at the time, three of whom escaped. One individual was locked inside a bedroom and died. The victim’s name is not being revealed at this time.
The house was declared a complete loss. The cause of the fire is unknown and is being investigated.
