TOMAHAWK, WI (WSAU) — A 19-year-old Tomahawk man was jailed last weekend on suspicion of his 3rd underage consumption violation.
Officers say the unidentified man was pulled over for speeding on Saturday. When officers made contact with him, they immediately noticed signs of impairment.
The driver refused a breath test but did agree to a standard field sobriety test, which they failed. He was then cited for speeding and first offense OWI. He was also transported to jail for charges related to underage consumption of alcohol and possession of marijuana.
Officers noted he showed signs of both alcohol and illegal drug use at the time of the incident. The arresting officer also noted that he was uncooperative, but not “physically resistive,” during the encounter.
The man’s name will not be released.
Editor’s note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that the incident marked a 3rd offense OWI for the suspect. It has been updated to reflect the correct charges.
