MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers will be without one of their top hitters for at least another week as Christian Yelich has been placed on the 10-day IL.
According to a post on X from the team, Yelich is still dealing with complications from a lower back strain, and infielder/outfielder Owen Miller will be taking his roster spot in the meantime.
When asked about the injury, Yelich said he’s remaining hopeful: “This one doesn’t feel as bad as before. But you never really know. I’m hoping for it to be quick, but you never really know. It just sucks, man.”
Before his injury, Yelich was leading the Brewers’ offense with a.333 batting average, five home runs, and 11 RBIs. In 90 games for Milwaukee last season, Miller batted .261 with a .303 on-base percentage, five home runs, 27 RBI, and 13 steals.
