GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – Former President Donald Trump was in the Badger State on Tuesday to rally supporters on election day and make a big endorsement for Wisconsin’s U.S. Senate race.
Republican Eric Hovde received the endorsement from Trump to loud applause from the crowd after he spoke earlier during the event, asking if the voters in the crowd were ready to “clean the swamp out” and “are you ready to fight for your country and take our country back? I know I am!” which also received loud applause.
I appreciate the support of President Trump and look forward to earning the support of voters all across Wisconsin to get our country back on track! pic.twitter.com/LS15h7KFhA

The former President cited a recent Emerson College Polling/The Hill poll showing the race between Hovde and the incumbent Tammy Baldwin in a statistical tie as he seeks to upset the two-term Senator, who has won her last two races by an average of five electoral points. Hovde made headlines in March after he promised voters that if elected, he wouldn’t accept any of his paychecks from the Senate, instead donating the money to a Wisconsin charity every month.
