Cindy Maples
Sunday, 12noon – 4pm
Born and raised in the very small, Southern Illinois town of Pinckneyville, Cindy has been entertaining people since speech competitions in 6th grade. Cindy studied Mass Communication and theatre at Southern Illinois University. She has appeared in over 60 film, television and theatre productions. Cindy’s ability to turn sweet into evil both in her acting and directing has earned her multiple awards for best actress, best film and best director.
Raised on Dolly Parton, Tanya Tucker, George Jones and Loretta Lynn, Cindy has deep roots in country music but loves listening to the new artist as well. Cindy knew there was no escaping country music when she was placed on the Grand Ole Opry stage at the age of 8 to have her birthday memorialized with the crowd singing Happy Birthday to her.
Cindy has lived in Illinois, New Jersey, Missouri, Indiana, Kentucky and Virginia, so good luck figuring out her accent. A recent transplant to Central Wisconsin, Cindy is still trying to adjust to the climate and can be seen wearing winter coats in June. Cindy loves spending weekends with the WDEZ listeners and looks forward to getting out and meeting ya’ll! You can interact with Cindy on Facebook @CindyMaples3.
