It’s been about 30 years for me. Thanks to my friend Robert Lewin, all the memories came flooding back with one simple Facebook post.
I started reading the comments to see if this was foreign to anyone. It was actually pretty common but the name was all over the place! So, what do you call it?
For those who never made it, below is the way my friend Robert makes it. I also found this online for “Egg In A Hole“.
This was from my friend Robert: Poke 1 inch hold in the bread for the egg to rest in. Butter up fry pan. Drop egg 
up top after 60 seconds. Turn over (adding more butter) after maybe 3 mins. Finish with eggs cooked thru to an over easy look.
