MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) Governor Tony Evers and Senator Tammy Baldwin have landed prominent speeches at the upcoming Democratic National Convention. The event, scheduled for Milwaukee in July, has become an online event that will start next week.
Evers will deliver one of the prime time speeches on Wednesday. Baldwin will speak on Thursday, the night when presumptive nominee Joe Biden gives his acceptance speech.
Biden has already announced that he won’t travel to Milwaukee. He’ll speak from Delaware instead.
Biden’s wife Jill will speak on Tuesday.
The national list of speakers includes former presidents Bill Clinton and Barak Obama. Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders are also scheduled to speak.
Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett will call the convention to order on Tuesday.
Rep. Gwen Moore will give one of the welcoming speeches on Monday.
