Packer Injury Update

GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) Clay Matthews will sit out his third straight game tomorrow, when the Green Bay Packers host the Minnesota Vikings. Coach Mike McCarthy said the All-Pro linebacker only did rehab work at practice yesterday – and while he’s making progress in recovering from a bad hamstring, he’s not ready to play yet. McCarthy said he was not sure if Matthews could return for the following week’s Sunday night home contest against Detroit.

There were no surprises among the others who were ruled out. They include tight end Andrew Quarless, who’s still recovering from off-season knee surgery. Defensive end C-J Wilson is also out, along with corner Sam Shields, running back Johnny White, and corner Charles Woodson.

Receiver Donald Driver is listed as questionable. McCarthy says Driver’s injured thumb needs rest. Receiver Greg Jennings is listed as probable for his first game since September 30th, as he gets over surgery for a torn abdominal muscle. Also probable are safety M-D Jennings, tackle Marshall Newhouse, defensive end Ryan Pickett, and safety Sean Richardson.
