RIB LAKE, IW (WSAU) — A 48-year-old Rib Lake man died after a UTV accident in the Taylor County Village of Rib Lake.
First responders were called to Lake Shore Drive at 1 PM on Saturday. They found James C. Wacholtz Jr laying on the ground near an overturned UTV.
Investigators say Wacholtz was riding along the road when he failed to negotiate a right turn. The vehicle rolled, and he was thrown from the seat.
Wacholtz was airlifted to Aspirus Wausau where he later died.
Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash. The Wisconsin DNR is investigating.
