Stephanie MeyerToday I'm thinking about finally starting "The Host" by Stephanie Meyer (pictured to the left). Stephanie Meyer is the author of the Twilight Saga which I loved, but you all already know that! My sister read "The Host" which is about Aliens and loved it just as much as the Twilight books. I started reading it a while ago, but didn't get too far before I got distracted doing a million other things that needed to get done. I guess it just didn't grab me as much in the first few pages as the Twilight book so I felt as if I could set it down and come back to it and I haven't yet. I plan to start it over again this Thursday! I am going out of town so what better time to start a book?

Here's a taste of it:

"Our world has been invaded by an unseen enemy. Humans become hosts for these invaders, their minds taken over while their bodies remain intact and continue their lives apparently unchanged. Most of humanity has succumbed.

When Melanie, one of the few remaining "wild" humans is captured, she is certain it is her end. Wanderer, the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie's body, was warned about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the glut of senses, the too vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn't expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.

Wanderer probes Melanie's thoughts, hoping to discover the whereabouts of the remaining human resistance. Instead, Melanie fills Wanderer's mind with visions of the man Melanie loves—Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body's desires, Wanderer begins to yearn for a man she has been tasked with exposing. When outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off on a dangerous and uncertain search for the man they both love."

It sounds really good and I'm really looking forward to reading it because I love reading, I just wish my schedule allowed me more time to read!

I have something in common with Kellie Pickler that I never would've imagined. She doesn't seem like a book worm to me, but apparently she loves to read! She tells San Antonio's Express News, "I have the greatest admiration for authors. I read all the time." She is a writer at heart saying, "Some people express themselves through dancing or sports. I express myself through writing. It's therapeutic and healing. My favorite part about making an album is writing." Kellie is currently working on songs for her third album.
