Marisa Arne
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Schofield woman charged in connection with the overdose death of a Wausau man in June 2025 will go on trial this summer.
Police said Marisa Arne sold the victim drugs in the parking lot of the downtown Wausau library. First responders were called to his home later that day to find him unresponsive on the bathroom floor. He died a few days later. An autopsy showed fentanyl in his system along with signs that he may have suffered a heart attack.
Investigators noted that the victim nearly died from a previous overdose and recently completed a rehab program.
Arne is being held in the Fond du Lac County jail. A five-day jury trial is set to begin on August 17. A jury status hearing will be held two weeks prior.
The 30-year-old faces more than 60 years in prison if found guilty at trial.
