TOWN OF DAYTON, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – A 70-year-old man died Sunday morning after his vehicle failed to yield at an intersection in Waupaca County.
The crash happened around 10:02 a.m. at the intersection of State Highway 22 and Old Highway 22 in the Town of Dayton. The Wisconsin State Patrol said a 2008 Chevrolet Uplander was traveling north on Old Highway 22 when it failed to yield the right of way to a 2017 Dodge Ram pickup truck traveling east on State Highway 22.
The Dodge struck the Chevrolet on the driver’s side. The Dodge came to rest in the south ditch.
The 70-year-old male driver of the Chevrolet died at the scene. A 65-year-old female passenger in the Chevrolet suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
The 45-year-old female driver and five juvenile passengers in the Dodge did not report any injuries.
