WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — A recall election for the District 7 Alder seat in Wisconsin Rapids is set for Oct. 27.
The election follows a recall petition filed against Michael Timm, who is accused of using his position to intimidate a local business. According to the Wisconsin Rapids Tribune, Timm told a local hotel they shouldn’t be selling “no data centers” yard signs, saying it would alienate “a lot of people.”
WAOW TV reports that the City Clerk issued a Certificate of Sufficiency for the petition on Sept. 18, and the City Council ordered the recall election on Sept. 23.
Candidates interested in running for the seat must file all required paperwork with the City Clerk’s Office by 5 p.m. Sept. 29. Required filings include a Campaign Registration Statement, Declaration of Candidacy, and nomination papers.
The winner will serve the remainder of the District 7 term, which expires Apr. 19, 2027.
