Lamont Davis
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Marathon County man once suspected of homicide by delivery of drugs has been sentenced for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Lamont Davis will serve four years in prison and four years on extended supervision after pleading no contest to the charge this week.
The 37-year-old was arrested in December 2025 after a Marathon County woman died from a drug overdose. Autopsy results showed a mix of fentanyl and cocaine in her system. A search of her phone linked her to Davis, and a search of his apartment turned up drugs and a firearm.
Two misdemeanor charges for possession of drug paraphernalia were dismissed but read into the record as part of a plea deal.
Davis was previously charged with providing the drugs that led to her death. That was dismissed in May.
Terms of his sentence also include treatment or therapy as ordered by his agent and maintaining full-time employment or education while on probation. He was given credit for 130 days already served.
