WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Wausau woman has entered a not guilty plea to a 7th OWI.
Emily McColley was in a Marathon County courtroom Monday morning, where she waived a reading of the criminal complaint and entered the plea. The 47-year-old is accused of driving while under the influence after an incident outside the Downtown Wausau Kwik Trip earlier this summer.
McColley is accused of double-parking outside the store. When she got out of the vehicle, she showed signs of impairment, including slurred and difficult-to-follow speech, confusion and disorientation, and stumbling body movement. She blew a 0.0 on a breathalyzer, though officers felt they had enough evidence to suggest she was driving under the influence of other drugs. Officers eventually restrained her and booked her into the Marathon County Jail on an OWI charge.
Court records show her defense team also argued for a bond modification, which was denied.
She is currently being held on a $20,000 cash bond. Further court action is scheduled for August 6th.
