WESTON, WI (WSAU) — Weston’s Administrator has some reminders for those still digging out from last week’s record snowstorm.
Jami Gebert says the most important thing is to make sure your sidewalks are clear. The village gave everyone a few extra days to complete that task due to the nature of the storm, but now it’s time to buckle down.
“We extended [our deadline] through the weekend,” said Gebert. “We understand that this was a lot of snow, and it’s going to take a while [to move]. So you have through [last] weekend, if not more.”
She also wants residents to make sure they have cleared a spot for garbage and recycling containers and their mailboxes to “make it safe for everyone that’s out on the streets that [may need] access to and from properties.”
The Wausau area saw 30 inches of snow over two days, shattering many snowfall records and bringing the area to a grinding halt from Sunday into Monday.
Other topics Gebert discussed with WSAU’s Mike Leischner include:
Start of video- Storm cleanup
2:50- Voting for the April election
7:30- Bicycle/Ped plans
10:30- Road projects for 2026
