Jeremy Campbell
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Wausau man accused of sharing child porn through a messenger app may have a plea deal with the state.
A plea and sentencing hearing has been scheduled for 42-year-old Jeremy Campbell, who has been facing three counts of possession of child pornography stemming from an investigation into suspicious activity on his Snapchat account.
Charges were filed in early 2023 after a tip from the app’s developers led Wausau police to obtain a search warrant for Campbell’s device. He later admitted to sending and receiving child porn through the app.
He made an initial court appearance in early February 2023 and has since been out on a $10,000 signature bond with several conditions, including no access to the internet and no contact with children under 18, except for supervised contact with his family.
Charges against him carry a maximum of 75 years in prison. Details of the plea arrangement are expected to be announced at a hearing on May 15th.
