MADISON, WI (WSAU) — Governor Tony Evers will address a joint session of the State Legislature one more time before leaving office next year.
The Democrat announced plans for the 2026 State of the State address on Tuesday, February 17th at 7 PM. The speech will be given in the Assembly Chamber at the Capitol.
The address comes at the end of what could be the final floor session of the current legislature. Lawmakers are expected to wrap up their work in late February before spending the rest of the spring and summer campaigning in their district ahead of the 2026 election season.
Evers, who is nearing the end of his second term in Madison, will not seek re-election in November. A crowded field of major-party candidates has already emerged for the seat.
