STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — The Portage County Offices are unable to receive incoming phone calls, according to a news release from the County IT department.
A news release from the county says “the County’s phone system is temporarily unable to accept public calls due to carrier lines being down. An estimated time for restoration is not currently available.”
Those who need to conduct business with Portage County are being asked to contact departments directly through the County’s website or by stopping in to conduct business in person. Residents should not contact the Sheriff’s Office, as they are unable to route calls to other departments.
The County is working with the phone carrier to resolve the issue, though a timeline for a resolution remains unclear.
