Milwaukee Brewers
SAN DIEGO, CA (WSAU) — The San Diego Padres edged the Milwaukee Brewers 5-4 in 11 innings Monday night in southern California. The Padres clinched a playoff spot with the win.
Freddy Fermin singled in the winning run off Grant Anderson.
The Brewers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning. The Padres tied it in the 7th. Both teams scored runs in the 10th before the Padres won it.
Christian Yelich was on base four times and drove in two runs. Sal Frelick and Caleb Durbin had the other RBIs. Freddy Peralta started and went five innings giving up two runs on four hits with six strikeouts and one walk. The Brewers used six relievers in the loss.
The Brewers are two games up on Philadelphia in the battle for the best overall record in the National League. They play the Padres again tonight…pre game show at 8:05 on WSAU.
