Milwaukee Brewers
MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-5 in the first of a four game series Monday night at American Family Field.
The Brewers took a 6-0 lead before Arizona responded with five runs in the 6th inning. The Brewers added an insurance run in the 8th and the bullpen did the job with Abner Uribe picking up his 3rd save. Brandon Woodruff got the win striking out eight over 5 2/3 innings. He did give up the five runs.
Andrew Monasterio had a home run and drove in two runs. Caleb Durbin also went deep. Christian Yelich drove in two runs while Brice Turang & Sal Frelick had single RBIs.
The Brewers are 82-50, are up by 5 1/2 games on the Cubs in the Central Division. They will host Arizona tonight…pre game show at 6:05 on WSAU.
