WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The Wausau Ignite softball team dropped their final home game of this season, 13-7 to the Minot Honeybees on Tuesday night at Athletic Park.
The Ignite led 3-1 after the first inning but were outscored 12-4 the rest of the way.
Mia Johnson drove in two runs for the Ignite. Brooklyn Hofer and Molly Fitzgerald also had RBIs.
The Ignite finish their inaugural season on Friday at La Crosse.
Meanwhile, The Wausau Woodchucks secured a big win in their chase for the second half championship in the Great Lakes West Division. They beat the Green Bay Rockers 10-9 on Tuesday in Green Bay.
Josh Arquette and Dylan Schlotterback both had three-run homers. Keagan Jirschele picked up a one-out win in relief. Broden Jackson got the save.
The Woodchucks are now 39-19 overall, 18-5 in the second half and are two games up on Madison. They will play in Green Bay again tonight.
