Tony Haase
WAUPACA, WI (WSAU) — Two weeks are in the books in the Tony Haase murder trial.
Court records show the jury was selected and seated on Wednesday, July 16th. Opening statements were given one day later, July 17th, with the first witnesses taking the stand that afternoon as well.
Dozens of witnesses have testified, and multiple exhibits have been entered as evidence, including photographs and items taken from the home and a sexual assault test kit from a victim identified in court records as T.T.
Haase is accused of killing Timothy Mumbrue and Tanna Togstad after a night of drinking in March of 1992. Haase’s father died as the result of a snowmobile accident, which also involved Togstad’s father.
He admits ending up at Togstad’s house the night she was stabbed, though he said his memory of the night is foggy because he had been drinking.
Testimony is expected to continue on Monday. The trial is scheduled to run through August 22nd.
