WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Central Wisconsin woman accused of starving a child and limiting her water intake will have a plea hearing for felony counts of child abuse and neglect.
Court records show Brittany Hull faces a plea hearing on May 6th for chronic child neglect and child abuse, both causing great bodily harm. She’s pled not guilty by mental disease or defect and faces more than six decades in prison.
Hull is accused of limiting the girl’s food and water intake, saying it was part of a special diet designed to help her cope with an “undiadgnosed medical condition.” Investigators say the girl was severely underweight and weak, sometimes requiring help with her utensils. Additionally, Hull is accused of making the girl eat her meals in a separate room from the rest of the family.
The 33-year-old is being held on a $1 million bond with several conditions, including a full no-contact order with the victim or her siblings. She is allowed to have supervised contact with biological children.
The charges also carry party to a crime modifiers, meaning investigators don’t believe she acted alone. Her partner, Tristan Hull, is facing similar charges and is scheduled for a pretrial conference on May 7th before a trial in late January 2026.
