AMHERST, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – A 43-year-old Amherst man was shot at a residence on Mill Street at approximately 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, according to the Portage County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies discovered that the gunshot was the result of a verbal disagreement between Justin Wojtalewicz, 42, who is accused of shooting Ryan Wojtalewicz.
Ryan was transferred to Stevens Point Airport and flown to Wausau via Medevac. He is currently in serious condition. Justin was arrested and faces a charge of attempted first-degree intentional homicide.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the incident was isolated and there is no danger to the public.
