MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — No one was injured during an early morning structure fire in Marshfield on Friday.
WAOW TV reports the Richfield Rural Fire Department was called to SV Pallet on State Highway 80 at about 4 AM to find heavy flames coming from a manufacturing building.
Once they determined no one was inside, they battled the flames and called in additional resources for support.
Crews estimate they used more than 300,000 gallons of water on the fire. They were able to keep it from spreading to a nearby warehouse full of pallets.
They also battled multiple small grass fires created by blowing embers along with windy and dry conditions.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The incident closed a nearby stretch of State Highway 80 at County Road N for several hours Friday morning.
