WASHINGTON (Reuters) -Dr. Mehmet Oz, the celebrity physician nominated by President Donald Trump to oversee Medicare and Medicaid, appears to have underpaid his social security and Medicare taxes in recent years, according to a memo drafted by Democratic staffers on the Senate Finance Committee.
“Dr. Oz may have significantly underpaid his Social Security and Medicare taxes in 2021, 2022, and 2023–with negligible Social Security or Medicare taxes paid in 2022 and no Social Security or Medicare taxes paid in 2023,” the memo, seen by Reuters, states.
