ELROY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A man wanted in a Juneau County triple homicide is in custody.
The Juneau County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Virgil Thew, 47, of New Lisbon, was apprehended Thursday in Elroy after being on the run for more than a week.
Authorities have been looking for Thew since Dec. 29 when they learned he was last seen with a reported missing juvenile.
The next morning, officials learned of second missing juvenile.
The investigation led authorities to a New Lisbon home on Dec. 30 where they found the bodies of 33-year-old Elizabeth Kolba and two girls, ages 12 and 13.
The Juneau County Sheriff’s Offices says an update will be released later Thursday.
