LAS VEGAS, NV (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Bucks used a strong defensive strategy to overcome the Oklahoma City Thunder 97-81 and win the 2024 NBA Cup Championship.
The Bucks were without top shooting guard Khris Middleton (flu) but were powered by star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, who had a triple-double after scoring 26 points along with 19 rebounds and 10 assists in 37 minutes, while point guard Damian Lillard contributed 23 points and four assists.
The Bucks defense dominated the game, limiting the Thunder to 5-32 from three-point range (15.6%) and star point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to 21 points on 8-24 shooting from the field.
The Bucks’ players and coaches will each receive $514,971, and the team will receive an automatic playoff berth in the 2024 NBA playoffs for winning the championship.
